My name is Jose Perez. In July 2019, I left a career in banking to become an entrepreneur. I have worked in banking for the past 30 years, mostly in audit and compliance roles. Unlike most people who leave a 9 to 5 job (it was more like 9 to 8, in my case), I am not resentful of my banking career. I learned a lot, and I’m thankful for that. But I wasn’t happy anymore. It was just time to make a change.
I have always been an entrepreneur at heart. Fortunately for my family and me, I did well in my banking roles, but unfortunately for the entrepreneur in me, I didn’t have much time to pursue business ideas. Things have changed now.
Instead of just retire, I have decided to challenge myself. See details at the Rules of Finance Notebook.
Who is Finance Notebook for?
If you are always stressed, negative, or unhappy at work
If you lack passion
If you don’t fit in with the corporate culture
If you no longer have good work-life balance
If your skills are underutilized
And you want to start a new adventure as an online entrepreneur
You are in the right place
One common theme I see in the online world is that the primary goal of most blogs is to sell products. Don’t get me wrong; Finance Notebook will be a for-profit website because I need to meet my annual personal challenge. But the main goal will not be to make money, but rather to provide useful information and tools.
Another theme that I have noticed is that a lot of people in the online world consider themselves business experts. I get it; people are not going to listen to someone who doesn’t know anything about the topic. Finance Notebook is different. I am not an expert. I am, and probably will always be an apprentice entrepreneur.
The Premise of Hard Work
Finance Notebook will not offer get-rich-quick schemes. While I will strive to provide efficient tools to help you be better as an online entrepreneur, you will have to work hard to earn money.
I’m excited! Let’s do this together!!
